If you regularly ride the bus, you probably already know about the MyCityBus app. But did you know there’s a customizable notification system to help you learn important information that could affect your travel time?
MyCityBus app notifications are the primary way to get information about route changes, detours, and the latest news. Turning them on in the app is easy with a few simple steps:
If you don’t already have it, you can download the MyCityBus app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Just search “MyCityBus.”
Open the menu by clicking the three lines in the top left corner. Select “Sign In.” If you have an account, you can log in with your information. If not, you can log in with Facebook or sign up for a new account.
Open the menu again, and select “My Account” near the bottom. Here, you’ll find a place to turn on push notifications, select subscriptions about route news, and create stop notification alerts.
Additionally, you should add the proper phone number and email address for notifications under the “Communication” section.
You can select “Create Notification” to schedule updates about your most-used routes or as a reminder if you’re heading to a new destination for the day.
Add your stop ID to get updates and information. You can even tap the map icon to view all the stops near you and choose the closest option.
You can select which days of the week the app should notify you. You can also choose repeated notifications on a specific day of the week, or a one-time notification when you’re taking a different route.
You can select the time of day that’s best for receiving notifications. You can get notifications at a single time, or choose a time range to learn about upcoming buses.
